Description:

Two DC Fast Chargers at the District Court of Maryland for Baltimore County at 8914 Kelso Dr, Essex, MD have been reported as inoperable (faulted) since September 3, 2021. The two chargers are owned and operated by BGE and are on the Greenlots charging network. These EV charging stations opened in March, 2021. Governor Larry Hogan, Treasurer Nancy Kopp, Department of General Services Secretary Ellington Churchill, and BGE CEO Carim Khouzami participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on April 9, 2021. These chargers are installed under an agreement between the Maryland Department of General Services and BGE to put EV charging stations at State facilities. They are part of a Statewide EV pilot program approved by the Maryland Public Service Commission to install EV charging stations at state, county, and local municipal government facilities across Maryland.

41 days of Charger ID 153035 being inoperable. Charger ID 153015, has been available since coming back online 20 days ago. According to the Greenlots app, Charging station ID 153035 is still faulted. The two fast chargers at the Kenhill Center in Bowie are operable.

September 25, 2021, 9:00 AM:
21 days of both chargers being inoperable. Now one of them, station ID 153015, appears to be available according to the Greenlots app, Charging station ID 153035 is still faulted. The two fast chargers at the Kenhill Center in Bowie no longer report as faulted.

September 23, 2021, 11:00 AM:
20 days inoperable so far. According to the Greenlots app, both chargers in Essex are still faulted. The two fast chargers at the Kenhill Center in Bowie also report as faulted.

For 12 days now these chargers have been inoperable according to the Greenlots app. It still shows both chargers in Essex as faulted. The two fast chargers at the Kenhill Center in Bowie also still show as faulted.

Checking the Greenlots app again, both chargers in Essex are still reporting as faulted. PlugInSites Tweeted a screenshot in a reply to the thread.

BGE replied via Twitter that they are aware of the charging station outages at both locations. BGE said that all four appear to have an internal capacitor issue and that they were working with the charger manufacturer to replace the failed components. They did not give a time frame on when to expect the repairs to be completed.

Checking the Greenlots app, it looked like the two BGE chargers at the District Court in Essex, MD were also reporting to be faulted. PlugInSites Tweeted a screenshot in a reply.

An EV driver Tweeted Greenlots and BGE asking how long it might take to get two faulted chargers in Bowie, MD operational again.
