Maryland EVSE Rebate Funds Depleted for Fiscal Year 2020

Maryland MEA EVSE Rebate

Funding Ran Out as of December 31, 2019

The Maryland Energy Administration has announced on their website that as of December 31, 2019 funding for the Fiscal Year 2020 EVSE Rebate Program is depleted.

The Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Rebate Program 2.0 was part of the Maryland Clean Cars Act of 2017 that Governor Larry Hogan signed into law on May 4, 2017. That legislation had extended the EVSE Rebate Program as well as the Electric Vehicle Tax Credit through FY 2020 (ending on June 30, 2020) subject to available funding.

Applications Still Being Accepted for Waitlist

Important to note that MEA will continue to receive EVSE applications in the event that additional funding becomes available in the next Fiscal Year. Additional funding for FY 2021 will have to come from the Maryland legislature. See: [Electric Vehicle Legislation Tracker] There is no guarantee that more funding will be made available or that the program won’t change.

Full details on the EVSE Rebate Program including how to apply are available on the Maryland Energy Administration website.
